Basic Capital handles incoming rollovers through our technology partner, Beagle. You authorize it in the app, then Beagle sets up a call and does the paperwork with your old provider, so you never have to relay check instructions yourself.

Start an inbound rollover:

  1. Scroll to the ‘Discover Basic Capital’ section and click ‘Start now’ on the Start rollover card.

  2. On the Begin rollover screen, click ‘Get started’.

  3. Type and sign your name to authorize Beagle to locate your old account. You also certify the amount is an eligible rollover distribution.

  4. Beagle emails you to book a call. On it, a specialist initiates the transfer with your old provider and handles the paperwork. We let you know once the funds post.

What to have ready

  • The name of your previous 401(k) provider.

  • The approximate balance you want to roll over.

How long it takes

Inbound rollovers take about 1 to 2 weeks to reflect on your account. Funds arrive as a check to our custodian (AET). Beagle and your old provider handle sending it.
